While I'm at it....
I've been thinking about vacation time with DH again. (I'm the activities director/event planner for the family)

Last year we went to a cottage in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas (absolutely beautiful!) What we liked about that is the fact that it was all our own for a week, nobody bothered us, and we could cook our own food and save some money that way. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like a lot of adventure on vacations, I like to relax. Good thing I married someone who thinks like me.

But this year, well, I'm stumped.

I'd originally thought about going back to where we went last year, but the bed there was so uncomfortable that I thought I was going to die toward the end of the trip, I was so stiff. Plus, I'd like for us to go somewhere different.

We aren't really beach people, so that's out. (we do like lakes/rivers though) We don't want to spend a whole lot of money, so my dream of going to London is out. I'll be in Vegas in March for a tradeshow, so we probably don't want to do that. Also, we'd like to stick to a 4-6 hour drive, unless flights are dirt cheap. I'm thinking end of May, for 3-4 nights. Plus, since this is most likely the last time we'll be vacationing together alone for quite a while, we'd like it to be sort of romantic.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

I've found this and this, and have been debating the merits of each.....
